Nissan Skyline GT-R KPGC10 Hakosuka GTR
The Nissan GT-R Hakosuka (1971–1972), officially known as the KPGC10 Skyline GT-R, is a revered icon in automotive history. Nicknamed "Hakosuka" (a blend of "boxy" and "Skyline" in Japanese), it marked the debut of the legendary GT-R badge.
Powered by the S20 2.0L inline-six engine, derived from Nissan’s racing efforts, it delivered 160 hp and revved to 7,000 rpm. Paired with a 5-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, the Hakosuka was a performance powerhouse of its time. Its lightweight construction and independent rear suspension contributed to razor-sharp handling.
Designed for motorsport dominance, it won 50 races in Japan, solidifying its legacy. With its aggressive styling, flared fenders, and performance pedigree, the Hakosuka remains a beloved classic and the cornerstone of Nissan’s GT-R lineage.
